TrackPoint, Stemco Partner on Trailer Monitoring

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — TrackPoint Systems and Stemco have partnered to provide tire pressure and mileage monitoring for untethered trailers.

The integration, which combines TrackPoint’s solar-powered trailer monitoring device with Stemco’s sensor technology, is designed to help fleet managers ensure that they do not dispatch trailers from a parked location without sufficient air pressure.

In the past, dispatchers could monitor a trailer while it was hitched to a tractor but would lose access to that information when the driver drops it off, said Brett Jackson, vice president of sales at TrackPoint.

The joint product with Stemco is designed to “bridge that gap and make your fleet more efficient,” Jackson said during a press conference here at the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting.
