NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Technology & Maintenance Council and Decisiv Inc. announced the launch of a program that will capture industry data and trends.

The TMC Scorecard Service will allow fleets to monitor how their service and maintenance data compare with similar companies, Carl Kirk, vice president of maintenance, information technology and logistics at American Trucking Associations, said in a statement. TMC is a council of ATA.

“The new TMC Scorecard Service goes beyond simple yardsticks, which show only generic industry data based on surveys,” said David Tobey, Ph.D. of Decisiv. “The scorecards can be used to measure specific aspects of a fleet’s operation against its own performance and that of other companies or groups, as well as industry averages.

During a March 9 news conference here, Michael Riemer, vice president of products and channel marketing for Decisiv, said that TMC has received more than 200 responses to a questionnaire that will be used to assist in further designing the scorecard.

“We’re going to continue to field the questionnaire the next 15 or 30 days and present the findings,” Riemer said. “Based on the findings and working with TMC, TMC will offer it as a subscription service for companies that want to participate.”

The cost for the yearly subscription service, which will not be limited to TMC members, hasn’t been determined, Riemer said.
