Third-Quarter GDP Rose at 4.9% Rate

The U.S. economy expanded at a 4.9 % annual growth rate in the third quarter, the most in four years, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

The level matched an earlier reading from late November and followed a 3.8% growth rate in the second quarter.

The reading matched economists’ forecasts, Bloomberg reported.
