Thermo King is introducing a predictive roadside assistance service for transport refrigeration units, the company announced March 15.
The Remote Operating Center combines technology with human intervention to help refrigerated transportation fleets reduce downtime, Thermo King said in a news release.
The service provides real-time remote monitoring and predictive analytics to detect issues and inform a response team.
“Our new data-enabled and predictive analytic technologies can help reduce unplanned downtime,” said Bob Roberts, customer solutions manager at Thermo King.
“Behind that technology is a team of Thermo King experts to assess alarms, take corrective actions remotely, or guide drivers through remediation steps to get them back on the road and to their homes sooner.”
The company said that the service can improve protection of temperature-sensitive loads as well as fleet sustainability by preventing in-transit food losses. — Transport Topics
