Texas to Hold Freight Listening Sessions This Month

The Texas Department of Transportation said it will hold 10 listening sessions around the state this month to help it identify freight-related issues to enhance the state’s economic competitiveness.

TxDOT said it wants input from the public, community leaders and industry representatives in all facets of freight trade and movement — trucking, railroads, ports, shippers, freight forwarders and receivers — to identify needs, trends, challenges and opportunities.

The department said the input will ensure that the recommendations identified by the freight, logistics and business communities and the public will be included in the Texas Freight Mobility Plan.

The first hearing will be held in Dallas on June 4. For a full list of sessions or for more information, see www.MoveTexasFreight.com.
