Loadboard.com to Join TIA Program

The Transportation Intermediaries Association said June 1 that load-matching Web site 123Loadboard.com would abide by the provisions of the association’s Platinum Performance Program.

TIA represents freight brokers, forwarders and third-party logistics companies and markets P3 as a designation to assure shippers of a broker’s adherence to ethical standards. TIA President Robert Voltmann has compared P3 to “the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.”

TIA said 123Loadboard would join other freight-matching services including Getloaded.com, Keeploaded.com, the Internet TruckStop, TransCore Commercial Services and TransCore Link Logistics, which already display the P3 logo. Transport Topics

Report: Cheaters Costing Pa. Turnpike Commission

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is losing at least $700,000 a year due to driving blowing through automated toll booths in western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

The commission does not use video surveillance on the Beaver Valley Expressway, the Greensburg Bypass and the Mon-Fayette Expressway, despite signs warning motorists of their use in recording license plates or snapping pictures of fare dodgers, the article said.

And state police do little enforcement of fare evasions because speeding gets top priority, fare evasions are difficult to prove and district justices don't like to focus on such small cases, the Post-Gazette said. Transport Topics
