TransCore Signs Agreement With TripPak
Freight-matching network TransCore said it signed an agreement with TripPak Services to provide document scanning services to help logistics firms expedite the creation of proof-of-delivery forms at truck stops.TransCore said this option will help drivers get paid faster after delivering a load.
McLeod Adds New Feature to LoadMaster
McLeod Software said it has added an interface to its LoadMaster package that allows carriers to automatically update insurance information.McLeod, Birmingham, Ala., said its carrier insurance renewal interface is integrated with Registry Monitoring Information Services, which provides insurance monitoring, verification and contingent cargo coverage to the trucking industry.
Logistics firms and brokers can use the feature to research liability information on more than 40,000 carriers, McLeod said. The data include expiration dates for policies and the amount of liability coverage.
The new feature allows firms to prevent the dispatching of a load if a carrier’s insurance has expired, McLeod said. Transport Topics
Xata Names Schlick First Chief Operating Officer
Transportation technology firm Xata Corp. said it named Thomas Schlick its chief operating officer, a newly created position.Xata, which makes electronic logs to help companies comply with federal hours-of-service regulations, said Schlick previously served as a senior vice president for global service at DataCard Corp., which makes electronic identification system.
