Summit Holdings Acquires Frontier International Trucks

Summit Holdings, a holding company formed by the merger of Diamond Cos. and Roberts Truck Center dealerships in October 2013, announced it has completed the acquisition of Frontier International Trucks

Frontier had operations in Tulsa and Muskogee, Oklahoma, Summit said in a release.

No financial details were disclosed.

Frontier International represented International commercial vehicles, Idealease rental and lease services and Crane Carrier Specialty vehicles. It also was an Ottawa dealer.

As a unit of Summit Truck Group, the Tulsa location will do business as Summit Truck Group of Tulsa and represent the same brands, Summit said.

Mike Owens, former truck sales manager of Frontier International, will serve as general manager of the Tulsa location for Summit. Tim Owens, previously lease and rental manager for Frontier, will be the new- and used-truck sales manager.

“Frontier is a natural fit into the Summit family,” Summit President Justin Fink said. “This is a locally owned business in operation since July 1982."

With the addition of Frontier International, Summit Holdings operates 33 locations in 28 markets in eight states, the company said.

This acquisition is the second for Summit Holdings, and it is part of the company's strategy to expand in the areas in which it does business, the company said.

Summit Holdings is a privately held company that operates as Summit Truck Group, Summit Bus and Summit Lease & Rental.
