Student Finance Corp. Files for Bankruptcy

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/printeditiontag_new.gif" width=120 align=right>Student Finance Corp., a company that at one time was the largest source of loans for private truck-driver training in the United States, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Nov. 4.

The New Castle, Del., firm has been the target of several lawsuits over its business practices and that litigation was a factor leading to a filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, said Hal L. Baume, a bankruptcy attorney in Lawrenceville, N.J., who represents SFC.
