Stuart Named TMC Chairman; Says More Technicians Needed

TAMPA, Fla. — Trucking executives are not doing enough to attract talented, younger technicians to the increasingly complex field of truck maintenance, said Darry Stuart, incoming chairman of the Technology & Maintenance Council.“There are still too many companies that don’t recognize the value of” their technicians, said Stuart, who manages the maintenance and operations of several trucking companies a year as president of DWS Fleet Management Services. Stuart was announced as the new chairman of TMC here at the group’s annual meeting Feb. 6-9.
