“It’s a great honor to represent this industry and do it on a national basis,” said Laskowski, now CTA’s Senior Vice President. “I love this industry. The CTA staff and I are very privileged to represent you. Moving forward, the staff and I are eager to work together as an alliance with the provincial associations and with each provincial board to represent carriers from coast to coast.”

Added CTA chairman Gene Orlick: “Steve has been groomed for the job and he is the ideal person to lead CTA into the future and maintain the outstanding level of service to the industry which CTA is known for.”

The Ontario Trucking Association had announced on April 14 that Laskowski, who began working at OTA and CTA in 1994 and ascended to his senior VP roles in 2004, would succeed Bradley as its CEO on Jan. 1, 2018.

“Steve has a proven track record as an effective advocate for the industry and a terrific leader for the staff,” said Bradley, who will retire from both associations on Dec. 31, 2017.
