SoCal Fires Close Part of Interstate 5

Interstate 5 in Southern California is closed in both directions near Camp Pendleton, as firefighters continue to battle ongoing blazes burning close to the freeway, the Associated Press reported.

I-5 is closed northbound at Highway 76 and southbound at the Basilone Road exit, and state officials are advising drivers to take Interstate 15, AP said.

Fires have been raging between San Diego and Los Angeles for two days, forcing mass evacuations in the area, news reports said.
