Skynet Purchases Nevada Courier

Skynet Holdings of Los Angeles agreed to buy Nevada Fleet Management, a Las Vegas-based courier that provides air and ground delivery services to Nevada, Washington and Oregon under the name Fleet Delivery Service.

“This is the first in what we expect will be a series of ‘platform’ acquisitions that will open new geographic service areas for Skynet around the world,” said Vic Nizic, the company’s president. “We expect to supplement these platform transactions with smaller ‘tuck-in’ acquisitions that will add to our transportation service capabilities in regions we already serve.”

Fleet Delivery Service has annual revenue of approximately $13 million. It employs 450 people and has more than 200 delivery vehicles.

Skynet Holdings provides international express courier services for time-sensitive packages.

It reported revenue of approximately $32 million for the fiscal year that ended June 30.
