Sirva Reports ’06 Loss

Moving company Sirva Inc. said it took a preliminary loss from continuing operations of $55.1 million or 75 cents a share last year, compared with a loss of $265.4 million or $3.59 for 2005.

Revenue was $3.86 billion for the year, up from $3.65 billion for 2005, the company said in a statement.

Sirva told the Securities and Exchange Commission in March that it would not file its 2006 annual report by an earlier, March 16 deadline.

Sirva, the parent company of Allied Van Lines and North American Van Lines, is ranked No. 13 on the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
