chneider National’s logistics unit said Tuesday it has set up a service to help U.S. exporters to Canada reduce transit times and eliminate some warehouse costs.

Schneider Logistics said the service, called AccessCanada, will combine truckload, crossdock warehousing and less-than-truckload services to expedite freight delivery into Canada without tying up shippers’ inventory or capital in warehouses.

In moving shipments into Canada, freight will be delivered from a distribution center, manufacturing facility or U.S. import warehouse to a crossdocking facility in Canada, where it will be divided into smaller shipments for final delivery via LTL shipments.

Schneider National is ranked No. 9 ranked on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
