ruckload company Schneider National said Monday it planned to hire 250 truck drivers in Wisconsin and fill more than 100 full- and part-time office positions.

The company is targeting hiring 125 drivers in Northeast Wisconsin and 125 more in the Milwaukee area, it said in separate statements. It said it planned to hold a “virtual career seminar” this Wednesday.

Last year the truckload carrier announced its largest compensation and work-life improvement package in its 70-year history.

Schneider said 2005 was its safest year on record and that it had invested significantly in its equipment to deliver the newest fleet in company history.

The carrier said the office positions are linked to the growth of its business and its acquisitions last year of American Port Services and American Overseas Air Freight. (Click here for previous coverage.)

Schneider is ranked No. 9 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
