ruckload carriers Schneider National and Celadon Group are each adding hundreds of new trucking jobs, news services reported Tuesday.

Schneider said Tuesday it will hire 300 new truck drivers, and other workers, at a new hub in Edwardsville, Ill.

Meanwhile, Celadon has boosted the number of drivers in its U.S. fleet by 165 in the past six months, the Indianapolis Star reported Tuesday.

Celadon has reduced its reliance on the ailing automotive industry and provides transportation for consumer-goods companies such as Target, Wal-Mart and Procter & Gamble, the paper reported.
