The South Carolina Ports Authority is getting a federal grant for $145,000 to get older trucks serving the port off the road, the Associated Press reported.

Under the program, truckers driving 20-year-old trucks can get $10,000 for a newer vehicle and get the scrap value of their old truck or about $2,000 per truck.

Half of that cost will be paid by the Ports Authority and the other half by the federal grant,  the AP reported.
