Sandberg Asks Senate To Include HOS in Bill

nnette Sandberg, administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, last week asked a Senate subcommittee to include truck drivers’ hours-of-service rules in the multiyear highway funding bill because it would help establish clear guidelines and eliminate the uncertainty surrounding the issue.
“The administration seeks the inclusion of language in the Senate reauthorization bill that will make the 2003 rule permanent and allow our agency the opportunity to revise the rule,” Sandberg said during an April 5 hearing before the Surface Transportation and Merchant Marine Subcommittee.For the full story, see the April 11 print edition of Transport Topics.
