Salisbury Named CEO at Fikes Truck Line

Fikes Truck Line named Gary Salisbury its chief executive officer this month, the company said. He takes over from owner and former president Jim Smith, who remains chairman of the board.

Salisbury joined Fikes’ executive management team in 1995, and most recently was the carrier’s chief operating officer. Jerry Davis was promoted to senior vice president, from vice president.

Fikes, Hope Ark., which was purchased by Smith in 1981, has grown from nine owner-operators to a $70 million business.
