Saia Inc.’s less-than-truckload division has renewed its contract with technology supplier Vnomics Corp. for an additional four years, the companies said in a joint announcement.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Vnomics’ onboard technology and customer Web portal enable features such as driver coaching, fuel-efficiency analysis and vehicle health and status monitoring.
Saia said it has installed the Vnomics system in more than 3,600 vehicles.
“Their system has consistently saved us millions of dollars since implementation,” said Brian Balius, vice president of transportation of Saia LTL Freight. “The Vnomics real-time approach to driver performance improvement has allowed us to proactively manage our fleet and increase profitability.”
He said Saia also has deployed Vnomics’ hours-of-service and electronic driver vehicle inspection applications, “which have been well accepted by our drivers and helped us improve our efficiency in meeting the regulations.”
Saia, based in Johns Creek, Georgia, ranks No. 25 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
