Saia Acquires LTL Hauler The Connection Company for $17.5 Million

aia Inc., parent of less-than-truckload carrier Saia Motor Freight Line, on Monday announced it acquired The Connection Company, a less-than-truckload carrier based in Columbus, Ohio, for $17.5 million.

The Connection Company, which provides service to such Midwestern states as Indi-ana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio, has revenues of about $70 million, Saia said in a statement.

Saia expects to complete the integration of The Connection Company’s LTL business into its own operations by early 2007.



Saia, formerly known as SCS Transportation, is ranked No. 23 on the Transport Topics 100 list of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
