Ryder Receives Patent for Supply Chain System

Ryder System said it has been issued a United States patent for its supply chain management system and technology.

The system, which Ryder calls Logistics Release, was awarded a patent last month.

Logistics Release configures supply chain data into a common Web-based utility each stakeholder in the process, Ryder said in a statement Monday.

Logistics Release also creates a shipment plan that takes into account factors such as size, shape and pallet configuration. The plan is created prior to shipment, and all movements are monitored and coordinated in real time, Ryder said.

Ryder System is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 50 listing of U.S. and Canadian logistics companies.
