Rush Enterprises’ Income, Revenue Rise

ush Enterprises, the nation’s largest dealer of Peterbilt trucks, said late Wednesday its second-quarter net income rose to $14.9 million or 59 cents a share, from $11.2 million or 45 cents a year earlier.

Revenue rose 23.3% to $569.2 million, Rush said in a statement.

The company’s truck segment revenue was $474.3 million for the quarter, up from $442.5 million a year earlier.



The company delivered 2,695 new heavy-duty trucks in the quarter compared with 2,469 a year earlier, 1,185 new medium duty trucks compared with 681 a year ago and 954 used trucks compared with 874 a year earlier.

The company’s construction equipment segment generated $20.2 million in revenue, up from $16.3 million a year earlier. In addition to its truck sales outlets, Rush also operates a John Deere dealership in Houston.

ush’s truck parts, service and body shop sales rose to $104.8 million from $86.3 million, while construction equipment parts, service and body shop sales rose 7.7% to $4.2 million.
