Rush Enterprises said it has completed its previously announced acquisition of Lake City Cos., owner of 11 International Truck dealerships.

Rush first announced the acquisition in April in which it said it would purchase assets of Lake City, the owner of a chain of International truck dealerships, for about $76.5 million. (Click here for previous coverage.)

Rush, New Braunfels, Texas, also said it has created a separate Navistar division. Navistar Inc. builds International-brand trucks.

The acquisition expands Rush Truck Centers to 60 locations in 14 states, said Rush, which is the largest U.S. Peterbilt truck dealership.

The company will offer both major emissions technologies for 2010 engines — exhaust gas recirculation, provided by Navistar, and selective catalytic reduction, offered by other truck makers including Paccar Inc., maker of Peterbilt and Kenworth trucks.

Peterbilt is a subsidiary of Paccar Inc., all of whose trucks will use SCR to meet new federal emissions standards, as will all other truck makers except Navistar.

Navistar offers advanced EGR, which treats nitrogen oxides within the engine.
