Roadrunner Transportation Systems Inc. announced a service agreement with Sameday Worldwide of Mississauga, Ontario, to move each other's less-than-truckload freight within their respective networks.

As part of the agreement, Sameday Worldwide will handle Roadrunner LTL shipments in eastern Canada and Cudahy, Wisconsin-based Roadrunner will handle Sameday Worldwide shipments within its U.S. network.

Sameday Worldwide has 32 terminals in Canada and is among that nation’s top three asset-based carriers. It is part of the Day & Ross Transportation Group, owned by McCain Foods, Roadrunner Transportation Systems said.

Roadrunner Transportation ranks No. 16 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.

“Our new relationship will strengthen the capabilities of both organizations as it expands Roadrunner’s coverage of eastern Canada and will increase our efficiency in cross-border shipments. It also provides Sameday Worldwide with a leading carrier in the United States,” Roadrunner LTL President Grant Crawford said in a statement.
