Roadrunner Reports Higher Fourth-Quarter Profit

Roadrunner Transportation Systems’ fourth-quarter profit climbed to $9.5 million, or 29 cents a share, from $6.9 million, or 22 cents, a year ago.

Revenue rose 24% to $295 million the company said late Wednesday.

Full-year net income rose to $37.5 million, or $1.16 per share, from $25.9 million, or 82 cents per share. Sales rose 27.2% to $1 billion.

Less-than-truckload revenue for the quarter rose 9.6%, including fuel surcharges, to $129.9 million, while truckload revenue rose 45.3% to $143.4 million.



Its transportation management solutions segment’s revenue rose 8.3% to $23.8 million.

Roadrunner is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
