Roadrunner Buys Central Cal Transportation

Roadrunner Transportation Systems said Monday it has acquired intermodal transportation company Central Cal Transportation for about $4 million.

Last year, Fresno, Calif.-based Central Cal generated about $19 million in revenue, Roadrunner said.

The deal “enhances the scale and critical mass of our drayage operations in the West Coast region,” said Roadrunner CEO Mark DiBlasi.

Roadrunner is ranked No. 32 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
