PHILADELPHIA — Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. is expanding its operations in truck tires, said Gary Schroeder, a sales director for the company’s commercial vehicles Roadmaster brand.

In an interview at American Trucking Associations' Management Conference & Exhibition on Oct. 17, Schroeder said Roadmaster is selling truck tires through three channels: wholesale/retail, to large fleets directly and to original equipment manufacturers. He also said the Findlay, Ohio, manufacturer is producing tires for all three positions: truck steer and drive axles and trailers.

The tires are designed domestically and manufactured in China, Schroeder said.

Roadmaster’s most recent expansion is its national accounts effort for fleets. This includes emergency roadside repairs, available all day, every day.
