Review of UPS’ Acquisition of TNT Extended Into November
UPS Inc. said Tuesday that European antitrust review of its planned $6 billion-plus acquisition of Dutch package firm TNT Express will extend by two months, into early November.
Regulatory review by the European Commission of the UPS-TNT deal had previously been extended by 10 days from an originally targeted closing date of Aug. 31.
The review extension will be until Nov. 9, UPS said in a statement, adding that it will formally confirm the extension of its offer period on Sept. 5.
UPS, which originally announced the deal in March, is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
