Retail Sales Gain 0.1% in June

Retail sales improved 0.1% in June, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.

The increase was the smallest since February and followed May’s 0.8% gain that was less than originally reported.

The June uptick was less than the 0.4% projected by economists, Bloomberg said.

Almost all trucking operations depend on the health of retail sales because such sales involve nearly every type of cargo.
