Real Estate Firm to Buy TravelCenters of America for $1.9 Billion

eal estate trust Hospitality Properties Trust will acquire TravelCenters of America for $1.9 billion, the highway services provider said Monday.

The deal is expected to be closed in early 2007, TravelCenters of America said in a statement.

Previously, TravelCenters of America was owned by private equity group Oak Hill Capital Partners L.P. and other investors, including Travel Centers of America management and truck manufacturer Freightliner LLC.
