Quality Distribution on Tuesday said it has completed its acquisition of North Dakota tank truck carrier Wylie Bice Trucking and its oilfield services subsidiary, RM Resources.

The acquisitions, previously announced last month, extend Quality’s reach into the Bakken oil shale, CEO Gary Enzor said in a statement.

Quality purchased the businesses for about $81.5 million, plus another potential $19 million if certain operating and financial criteria are met.

Bice operates two trucking terminals in North Dakota with about 500 drivers.

Quality Distribution is ranked No. 33 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
