Quality Carriers Inc. said it is expanding its chemical-hauling business in the Chicago area.

The company’s independent affiliate, Linmoore Investments, will open a terminal in Channahon, Illinois.

“As we review the market and meet with our customers, we have found the need for expanded capacity in the core chemical market of greater Chicago. As a result, one of our existing independent affiliates agreed to expand their Midwest presence,” Quality Carriers President Randy Strutz said in a statement.

“As an independent affiliate of Quality Carriers, we already have well-established terminals in Cincinnati, Lima, Barberton, and Southpoint, Ohio; Institute, West Virginia; and Morton, Illinois. The Chicago market opportunity is an attractive one as it helps us round out our Midwest presence,” Linmoore President Jody Mangeot said in a statement.

Quality recently announced expansion in Denver, West Texas, Houston, Indianapolis and Pennsylvania.

“This has been an exciting start to the year. We still have many other markets under review and plan to continue our network expansion,” Strutz said.

Quality Carriers is a subsidiary of Quality Distribution, which ranks No. 35 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
