Qualcomm, Maptuit Set Partnership for NaviGo System

Qualcomm Inc. and Maptuit Corp. said Monday they have entered an agreement to make Maptuit’s navigation system available on Qualcomm’s mobile computing platform.

The agreement will incorporate Maptuit’s NaviGo system into Qualcomm’s OmniVision platform.

NaviGo is a real-time, hybrid in-cab navigation service that provides truck drivers and companies with interactive maps to increase routing efficiency and improved driver satisfaction.

Qualcomm said it plans to offer NaviGo on the OmniVision platform later this year.

“Our strategy has always been to develop strong strategic relationships and to create brand associations that compliment Maptuit’s and our partners’ brands,” said Jeff Papows, Maptuit’s chief executive officer.

“The combination of Maptuit’s NaviGo and Qualcomm’s OmniVision system is yet another example of industry standards in navigation and mobile systems,” he said.
