Private Truck Council to Launch Safety Web Site

he National Private Truck Council is poised to launch an online, interactive program that for the first time will enable member companies to compare their fleet safety performance with that of their peers.

Fleet managers with pre-existing ideas about how their safety records stack up against others may be in for a surprise when the service debuts this fall.

That’s because while the number of accidents and claims has a direct impact on the bottom line, there’s really no easy way for fleet managers to judge the effectiveness of safety-related activities.
