PressurePro, TrackPoint Announce Partnership

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Advantage PressurePro and TrackPoint Systems announced a partnership to develop what they called the first real-time tire pressure monitoring system for untethered trailers.

The companies made the announcement here during the Technology & Maintenance Council’s annual meeting.

The companies said obtaining real-time tire conditions from untethered equipment can be limited because of power and communication restrictions.

However, they said that problem will be solved by embedding PressurePro’s wireless technology into TrackPoint solar-powered untethered trailer tracking devices.

“Dispatching drivers to trailers that have moved location or have tires in need of repair can be time-consuming, costly and a nuisance to drivers,” TrackPoint Systems CEO Alan Smith said.

The partnership “can alert fleet managers and dispatchers in real time not only when a trailer is moved, but also if a specific tire is in need of repair — even when the trailer is not connected to vehicle power,” he said.
