Help Inc., provider of the PrePass weigh-station bypass service, has launched InfoRM, a business intelligence tool designed to help fleets better understand their safety data and improve bypass rates.

The system, available now, is a free added feature for carriers enrolled in the PrePass program.

InfoRM, which stands for Information & Reports Manager, provides carriers with details about their roadside inspections and safety information to help them pinpoint areas in need of improvement. The system aggregates the most current data on factors that influence the inspection selection system scores used by enforcement agencies to help determine which trucks to inspect.

InfoRM’s data dashboards enable fleets to make improvements in areas such as vehicle maintenance, driver behavior and safety, said Karen Rasmussen, Help Inc.’s CEO.

The organization first announced its plans to offer the system during a press conference at American Trucking Associations’ Management Conference & Exhibition in October.

InfoRM, designed for use on personal computers and tablets, uses data visualization to help fleet safety directors make sense of all the information at their disposal.

“The issue for them is not a lack of data,” said Drew Anderson, director of carrier relations at Help Inc. “The issue is, ‘I’ve got too much data and I can’t really find the answers that I need.’ That was one of the real guiding principles for the development of InfoRM.”

The application includes an interactive map of truck inspections and violations by state, city and highway. Users can also search by vehicle identification number, site, violation type and other parameters to identify trends.

More than 550,000 commercial trucks operated by more than 51,000 carriers utilize PrePass for weigh station bypass and electronic toll payment. PrePass has logged 730 million bypasses generating more than $5.4 billion in savings for motor carriers, Help Inc. said.
