Port of Los Angeles Reports Lower Volume in June

The Port of Los Angeles said its June import cargo volume dropped 10% from a year ago, to about 334,000 20-foot equivalent units.

Export volume rose 5.6% to about 163,000 TEUs, and the volume of empty containers fell 29.5% to about 144,000 TEUs, the port said.

Total monthly volume was almost 641,000 TEUs, down 12% from a year ago.

For the first six months of this year, the port’s cargo volume increased 2.8%, to 3.77 million TEUs, the port said.
