Dorsey Trailers Signs Rush Enterprises to Dealership
Dorsey Trailers Inc. trailers will be available at dealerships operated by North America's leading Peterbilt dealer Rush Enterprises, according to a recent deal between the two companies."With the addition of Rush Enterprises to the Dorsey dealer network, the company now has over 95 authorized dealers serving over 36 states and 4 Canadian provinces," says Dorsey Trailers Chairman and CEO Marilyn R. Marks. Rush Enterprises CEO Marvin Rush says the deal is part of his company's "process of becoming a complete one-stop sales and service shop for the truck distribution industry." U.S. Trucking Inc. Orders 100 Volvo Tractors
In a deal worth some $8.4 million, U.S. Trucking Inc. should receive 100 Model T610 Volvo tractors with 465 HP engines by the end of November. The new tractors are part of the 2000 model year. "We have been operating older equipment since our first acquisition in 1995 and this is our second major step to upgrade our tractor/trailer fleet," says U.S. Trucking President and CEO Dan Pixler, adding that the company also bought 75 new trailers in 1999. The Board of Investments is trying to lure an Oshkosh Truck plant to the Philippines. The company is looking around the Philippines for a potential site, says Dakila Fonacier, who is both Trade and Industry Undersecretary and the board's managing head.As part of its efforts to attract the Oshkosh plant, the board is thinking about putting the investment under the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Investment Area program, which treats foreign companies the same as local businesses.
