    FDX Corp., Parent of FedEx, Makes Strategic Investment in Trade Compass, Inc.

    FDX has invested in Trade Compass, which serves international trade and business via its www.tradecompass.com Web site. "Trade Compass is at the forefront in providing e-commerce solutions for international transactions conducted over the World Wide Web," says David J. Roussain, FedEx's Vice President, Electronic Commerce Marketing. Roussain has joined the board of directors at Trade Compass, as has Gerald P. Leary, FedEx's Vice President, Global Trade Services.

    GE Capital Fleet Services Appoints Marian Powell to Senior Vice President, E-Commerce

    GE Capital Fleet Services tapped Marian Powell for the post of senior vice president, e-commerce, from her previous position of senior vice president, North American Operations.

    "Over the next few months, Marian's key task will be to evolve a more robust e-commerce organization and strategy," says President and CEO Rick Smith.     A Warning for Truckers Entering Oregon After Hours

    Starting Dec. 1, drivers can be fined if they do not have credentials if they cross the state line into Oregon after business hours or without going through a port of entry. Credentials can be received by fax by calling one of the state's port of entry offices. The Farewell Bend port of entry office stays open around the clock all week solely for emergencies; the hours at the other offices are from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Land Line Magazine Online (12/08/99)


    SDRC Receives Metaphase Contract from Renault VI/Mack Group

    Renault VI/Mack Group has ordered more Metaphase Enterprise software and other services from SDRC, an enterprise product development solutions provider. Metaphase software is already being used to connect two of the vehicle manufacturing group's sites in the United States and France.

    The move signifies that Renault VI/Mack Group is moving into the second phase of its program for transatlantic collaboration on vehicle development. "We will expand deployment of Metaphase not only in our initial program, but also into other programs moving forward," says Marc Kalbermatten, Renault VI/Mack Group's vice president, information systems.
