Personal spending increased 0.4% in November, the Commerce Department said Friday.

The rise followed a 0.1% drop in October. Personal incomes rose 0.6% in November, the most since February.

The rise matched economists’ median forecast, Bloomberg reported.

A rise in consumer spending could increase demand for new factory goods and the trucking shipments that get them to stores.
