Personal Spending Rises 0.6% in February

Consumer personal spending and incomes each rose 0.6% in February, the Commerce Department said Friday.The spending increase followed a 0.5% gain in January, while incomes rose 1% the previous month.The spending increase topped economists’ forecasts of a 0.3% increase in spending, Bloomberg reported.An increase in consumer spending could increase demand for new factory goods and the trucking shipments that get them to stores.
