Penske Named Lead Logistics Provider for Whirlpool

enske Logistics said Monday that home appliance manufacturer Whirlpool Corp. has selected the company as its lead logistics provider.

Under the agreement, Penske Logistics will manage and evaluate regional supply chain operations for the manufacturer.

The company will oversee and integrate all third party logistics providers for Whirlpool.

Penske also expanded an existing contract with Whirlpool for operational inbound and outbound supply chain needs, under which it will assume additional management and operational control over Whirlpool’s private fleet and regional distribution centers in Kent, Wash., Flower Mound, Texas, and Gouldsboro, Pa.

Penske Logistics is a unit of Penske Truck Leasing Co., ranked No. 7 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of North American for-hire carriers.
