Third-party logistics firms PenserSC and ICS Logistics said they have agreed to a trucking and transportation services contract.

The alliance revolves around PenserSC pricing and providing refrigerated less-than-truckload services for ICS. PenserSC said it would buy some transportation assets from ICS for an undisclosed price.

“PenserSC has experienced 25% year-over-year growth since 2007. This has increased our need for multi-temperature truckload and LTL assets,” said CEO Shawn Barnett. The alliance gives PenserSC an expanded transportation infrastructure, he said.

ICS Logistics CEO Tony Brown said the move allows his company to focus on its core port services as well as warehousing refrigerated products.

PenserSC offers contract logistics, warehousing and fulfillment services while  ICS owns divisions that provide dry and temperature controlled warehousing, stevedoring and terminal services.
