Pennsylvania Turnpike Tolls to Rise in January

E-ZPass Users to Get a Discount

Truckers without E-ZPass will pay about 10% more than they do today to run the Pennsylvania Turnpike under a new rate schedule scheduled to take effect in January.

For trucks with E-ZPass, the toll will be about 3% higher under the new rate schedule adopted June 15 by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

This will mark the first time the Turnpike’s toll rate schedule has differentiated between E-ZPass and non-E-ZPass users.

Turnpike officials said they have not yet finished calculating the new toll rates, but based on 10% and 3% approximations, a 60,000-to-80,000-pound truck traveling the Turnpike from the western entrance of Warrendale, Pa., to the Delaware River crossing into New Jersey will pay about $141.89 with E-ZPass and about $151.54 without it.

The toll today for a similar truck on the same trip about $137.76, with our without E-ZPass.
