Patriot Transportation’s 2Q Profit Rises

Patriot Transportation Holding’s fiscal second-quarter profit rose 38% from a year ago as transportation revenue improved.

Net income for the quarter ended March 31 rose to $2.3 million, or 24 cents a share, from $1.6 million, or 17 cents, a year earlier.

Revenue rose 8.1% to $33.9 million, while transportation revenue increased $1.7 million to $27.2 million. Its transportation segment’s operating profit rose to $1.9 million, from $1.8 million.

Patriot operates tank carrier Florida Rock & Tank Lines and a real estate business.
