Patriot Transportation Holdings' 3Q Earnings Slip

atriot Transportation Holding reported late Monday net income of $1.8 million or 59 cents a share for its fiscal third quarter ended June 30, a 13.8% decrease from $2.1 million or 70 cents in the same quarter a year ago.

Transportation segment revenues were $32.4 million, up 13.3% over the previous third quarter. Fuel surcharges accounted for $1.7 million of the increase, the company said.

Excluding surcharges, revenue per mile increased 6.1%, Patriot said.
