P.A.M. Turns Fourth-Quarter Profit

Truckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services reported a fourth-quarter profit after posting a loss in the same quarter last year.

P.A.M. earned $133,000, or 2 cents a share, compared with a loss of $1.1 million, or 12 cents, a year ago, the carrier said in a statement late Thursday. Revenue rose 14.3% to $89.4 million.

For the full year, the company lost $2.9 million, or 32 cents per share, compared with a loss of $655,000, or 7 cents, in 2010. Revenue grew 8.2% to $359 million.

P.A.M. is ranked No. 62 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
