P.A.M. Transportation’s Income and Revenue Gain in 1Q

ruckload carrier P.A.M. Transportation Services Wednesday reported its first-quarter net earnings jumped to $5.2 million or 50 cents a share, from $2.9 million or 26 cents a year ago.

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/pamlogo.gif" width=80 align=right>Operating revenue excluding fuel surcharges rose 13.4% to $90.9 million, the company said in a statement.

The income gain was 78.5%, while the per-share increase was 92.3%, P.A.M. said.



“We experienced strong demand for our services during the quarter,” said P.A.M. President Robert Weaver.

Revenue per loaded mile before fuel surcharges rose 12.7% to $1.45, and revenue per tractor per week rose 13.9% to $3,480, the company said.

P.A.M., Tontitown, Ark., is ranked No. 67 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian trucking companies.
